TRIVIUM IS BOOK 1 OF THE TRIVIUM TRILOGY

... Nguyen offers an intelligent bookworm heroine whose love of Jane Austen will likely strike a chord in readers.
— Kirkus Reviews

"Author Amber Nguyen has done a sensational job on character development as well as providing a clean and captivating story that is appropriate and enjoyable for young adults on up. The beauty of the story between the covers is only challenged by the gorgeous cover itself. It is obvious that Nguyen poured her heart and soul into every detail of this book.  With relatable characters placed in a hometown setting that feels familiar, Trivium provides adventure you will happily follow, romance that will have you cheering, and suspense that will keep you engaged. Nguyen invites us into the deep blue waters as we examine the age-old conflict between sovereignty and free will. She has managed to offer a great read as well as a conversation starter. I finished the book wanting more and am anxiously awaiting #2 and #3!"

Trivium is the first in the trilogy by Amber Nguyen, and believe me, when you finish you'll be just as anxious to read book two as I am. Trivium is part teenage friendship story, part romance story, and part family story, set in a dystopian society full of peace and harmony and the guesswork of the future removed from the people--and no free will. Or is there? The story is as engrossing as Hunger Games or The Giver, with characters I am rooting for and plot twists that kept me guessing. For me, Trivium captures the spirit of a happy family like Madeleine L'Engle's Wrinkle in Time books, and it is much less violent than the Hunger Games trilogy. Highly recommended!

Have you ever wanted to know your future? What if you could choose what your life would look like?

For Cassia Bellerose, once she turns eighteen that’s exactly what she’ll do. Every citizen must visit the Trivium and choose from three different futures. Cassia has planned her life exactly how she wants it. Choosing at the Trivium should be easy. She’ll go to medical school, marry her boyfriend, Gunner, and always have her best friend, Verity, by her side. But Cassia has a secret she's kept from those closest to her. A secret so powerful it threatens to unravel every plan she's made. Torn between the life she's always known and a life she's born to live, Cassia embarks on a journey of self-discovery and searches for the identity of the handsome stranger who haunts her dreams. In a world where futures are predestined, what happens if she chooses wrong?

Trivium challenges the notions of fate and destiny versus the unconquerable spirit of free will. It is a tale of love torn between two universes, a fight to choose your own story, and the undying loyalty of true friendship.
